Cindy Bell’s 24-year career demonstrates her knack for providing an effective supporting role at young, dynamic companies seeking growth. She is passionate about small business and loves the energetic atmosphere that provides opportunities for her to help build efficient internal operations, while still working with clients in capacities beyond her accounting role.
Cindy joined Right Hat in 2007, not long after the company’s formation in 2005. As one of the firm’s core employees, she draws on her years of experience to oversee all of the company’s financial matters. She also brings her knowledge of general accounting practices directly to Right Hat’s clients. She works with clients on budgeting jobs and job estimates and with vendors in a wide variety of ways. She regularly assumes other roles, too, which she calls “adding flavor to her day.”
Cindy’s goal is to understand Right Hat’s business from top to bottom and bottom to top, so she can apply her experience and management skills to enrich the company and help drive its creative talent. Cindy also looks for ways she can help the team build client relationships, and flexibility is her mantra.
Cindy’s related work history includes a start-up communications graphics firm where she initially helped guide the company in her beginning role as assistant treasurer. At the firm, Cindy rose to vice president of finance before leaving for other opportunities. Previous to that job, Cindy worked in finance for another start-up within the same industry. She has also served in the public sector, where she was an accounts payable director responsible for a budget of more than $100 million. In addition to her strong finance background, Cindy has handled human resources, including setting policies and procedures, and writing employee handbooks.
Beyond her professional career, Cindy brings her passion and drive to her volunteer efforts, where she has enjoyed significant success. As a 16-year volunteer, Cindy is responsible for all of the fundraising and for helping to build her community’s CYO basketball program, which now includes over 120 kids. Despite Cindy’s lack of personal experience as a player, she led her team to a championship two years in a row.
